THE
FLEAMARKET , THE BANQUET
and
then it's
FAREWELL
TO DALLAS!
|
|

The Friday night fleamarket
was very popular of course lots of "horse trading"
going on!

|

The photo
above shows Lars and Paul (W1GHZ)discussing the very
nice 10GHz/24GHz feed horns that Paul had machined up for sale
at the fleamarket
|

Paul
Drexler,W2PED had several 1, 2 and even 3 watt 24GHz amplifiers
for sale

BANQUET
SCENES

|
Seen on the left here
is Roger, VK5NY, former world 10GHz DX record holder.
He seems to be involved in a serious discussion, just before
the start of the Saturday night banquet.
We are not sure if
the person lower right is FBI or CIA ! He's certainly trying
to keep his earpiece in. No one told me the room was "bugged"
!
|
To the
right you can see that Mrs and Mrs Sam Jewell, G4DDK,
are enjoying themselves. They should be happy ... they had
both won prizes at the Grand Prize Draw just a few minutes
earlier!
In fact
everyone wins a prize ....

|

Above are Mr and
Mrs Mike Kana, AA9IL from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As usual,
Mike had a load of surplus to take back up north with him!
|
The photo
above shows ARRL's Dave Sumner, K1ZZ, making a speech
after dinner. Al Ward, W5LUA, did the usual honours of
thanking everyone for their hard work in organising the event,
when it fact is was Al himself who did a large percentage of
it!

|
So, as all good things
have to come to an end eventually, it was time to fly back to
the UK from Dallas FT Worth Airport on the Sunday afternoon.
We had all had a fabulous time.
Our thanks go out
to Al, W5LUA, Kent WA5VJB, Wes, WA5TKU and everyone else remotely
involved in organising the world's top amateur microwave event.
As (some) folk say
over there in the States ... "It was a gas, Man!"
