The G4DDK004 module (the larger tin plate box shown in the photo) uses a Butler oscillator at around 100MHz, depending on the final frequency desired, with output in the 2.5GHz region. The final output is usually around +10 to +12 dBm or so. Very popular in the UK, they have been used as the basis of microwave local oscillators for all the bands from 2.3GHz to 248GHz! The smaller tin plate box, in the upper part of the photograph is a multiplier unit.
