Microwave Update 2000 had these very
useful doubler/amplifiers for producing 100mW at 24GHz, for less that 5dBm
input at 12GHz. They are available in both sma and waveguide output. A
DC voltage of only 6V at 600mA is required, two of the three feedthrough
pins being unconnected. At only $60 Update price, these modules were real
bargains. Some "out of spec" modules were also obtained. These produced
20mW and may do better once I have had a chance to work on them. All the
modules appeared to be brand new and unused. The photo below shows one
of the lower power output modules.
The left hand side of the module houses a diode multiplier while the amplifier section can be clearly seen on the right.
