Sunday saw a busy time at the "Bring and Buy"
sale. G3PHO (on the right in the photo) had brought along a large quantity
of surplus from the estate of our Silent Key friend Tim, G3KEU, who passed
away earlier in the year. A large amount of Tim's stuff had already been
sold at the Crawley Microwave Round Table meeting in September and it was
to Peter's relief that most of the rest went at Martlesham... his garage
is now looking as though he might get a car in it at last!
Neil, G4LDR, looking at the camera on the left made some welcome
purchases.
All the proceeds of the sale of G3KEU's gear are going to a very
worthy cancer relief charity. Many thanks to all who contributed to this
by buying some of Tim's gear. |

Two well-known UK microwavers, John, G4EAT, on
the left and Ken, G3YKI, on the right. Both put out fine signals on several
microwave bands up to 10GHz.
Ken lives in William Shakespeare country, Stratford on Avon, while
John is on the east coast in Essex, well-located to catch the microwave
ducts across the North Sea into Continental Europe. |
David, G6GXK, heads the queue for lunchtime sandwiches.
Martlesham Microwave Round Table is self-sufficient in refreshments! |

John, G3XDY, in the foreground, helps Neil, G4BRK,
set up the test gear for some work on Neil's 24GHz transverter. This ended
up with an overall system noise figure of around 4dB and about half a watt
RF output. |
